The purpose of this online portfolio (or e-portfolio) is to assist me in finding a career in the public relations field. I am specifically searching for a career in Event Planning. I'm using this portfolio as a way to showcase the projects I've completed throughout the semester that could possibly assist me in landing a job in this career path. I also wanted to showcase what I've learned about writing in or for businesses.

My goals for the Nest Realty project was to learn how to write for a business formally, since it was a formal report. I also hoped to learn some things about using rhetoric for a business report. I wasn't sure how the two could combine, but I learned that combining them offers some of the best results. You can find more about what I've learned from this semester and these projects on the reflection page, located on the top navigation bar. Another goal I had to the formal report for Nest Realty was to learn how to collaborate with a group online, whom I'd had no previous experience working with. I mainly wanted to learn how to get excited over these projects. I was able to use resources that I've had for years, that I never knew how to use in the past. 

My goals for this Writing for Business course was to simply learn how to write in a business environment. I specifically wanted to learn how to write appropriately for any given situation, whether I'm talking to somebody over me or another coworker. I am sure I'll need to know how to properly write to my supervisor in a way that will make he or she go to me for other projects. I also wanted to learn specifically how to format resumes, reports, and other important documents that I'll see in the workplace.
